My Plan. Our Journey.

Over the next 365 days, my mission is to go from a 19.6 handicap to a 0, making me one of the best 2% of golfers in the world. I’ll be turning determination, discipline, and community into measurable progress, working closely with a dedicated coach to rebuild my swing and strategy from the ground up, using the latest tools and golf performance apps to track every stat, session, and round in real time. My friends will be part of the journey too — pushing me through early mornings, competitive matches, and those inevitable rough patches. Together, we’ll make every shot count as I document the process of transforming from an average weekend golfer into a scratch player.

Below you will find my score cards, videos, pictures, milestones and blog enteries to update you all about the journey! If you want to see all the amazing products and people I’ll be working with click here.

How it all started

If you told me four years ago I’d be building a golf website, tracking my stats like a Tour pro, and chasing a dream to reach scratch — I probably would’ve laughed. No, I definitely would have laughed.

I didn’t grow up around golf. I grew up in the North Inner city of Dublin and golf was never on my radar, we played sports that were easily accessible Gaelic football, Hurling and Football (Soccer) I wasn’t raised on private club fairways or junior golf lessons. Golf always seemed a little too posh for someone like me, but one day much later than I care to share, I just picked up a club and felt that one pure strike — the one that hooks you for life.

That was it. One swing and I was obsessed.

At first, it was just a weekend thing. A few mates, some laughs, and a lot of lost balls. (goodbye ProV1’s) Something about golf grabbed me deeper than any other sport ever had. It wasn’t just the competition. It was the challenge — the constant reminder that you can always get better if you’re willing to do the work.

Then came a moment that changed everything.

Somewhere between the frustration of bad rounds and the addiction to improvement, I realised golf wasn’t just about getting better at the game — it was about getting better as a person. The discipline, the patience, the mental battle — it all mirrors real life. And if golf could teach me that much, maybe it could do something good for others too.

That’s where the idea for Scratch for Good came from.

October 2025 I set myself a goal: go from a 19.6 handicap to scratch in 365 days. On paper, it sounds ridiculous. But that’s the point. I wanted a challenge that scared me — something that would push me beyond my comfort zone and mean something beyond myself and I decided to document this on social media. Well needless to say not many people thought it was possible and some even wanted to bet me I wouldn’t do it and that is where '“Scratch for Good” was born.

I decided to put my money where my mouth is. For every single shot I finish over par, I’m donating €1 to Samaritans Ireland to support mental health. Because let’s be honest — we all fight battles most people never see, and sometimes we just need someone to talk to.

I’m documenting everything. The good rounds, the bad ones, the lessons, the early mornings, and the mental grind that comes with chasing an “impossible” goal. It’s going to be raw, honest, and hopefully, relatable for anyone who’s ever tried to get better at something they love.

This isn’t just about golf. It’s about growth. It’s about purpose.
And it’s about proving that every shot can make a difference — both on and off the course.

So that’s how it all started.
One swing, one idea, and one crazy dream to reach scratch — for good.
